3 THINGS I LOVE ABOUT JAPAN
- Japan has an amazing MIX OF MODERNITY AND CULTURE. On the one hand Japan is incredibly developed and high-tech but on the other hand they still live old traditions and have a strong culture. This fact makes Japan so fascinating for me. I never found such a diversity of modernity and tradition somewhere else.
- The FOOD. Yes, I’m a foodie and if you follow my website you know that I’m always addicted to try local food and most of the times am enthusiastic about it. But for Japan it was special. I’m a Sushi-lover and of course it was on the top of my list to try sushi in Japan. And I wasn’t disappointed. It was the best sushi I’ve ever had! and I’m not exaggerating right now. But what surprised me even more was how diversified the Japanese kitchen is. Honestly, I only thought about Sushi when I was thinking on Japanese food before. But there is so much more. Be it Ramen, Tempura or Gyoza…I loved it all. The Japanese kitchen is full of flavors which makes it to one of my favorite foods.
- The CHERRY BLOSSOMS. If you ever have the chance to travel to Japan in spring time, you should do it! Every year at the beginning of April Japan is blooming. You can’t imagine how many blossom trees are there until you see it with your own eyes. You won’t believe that its’ real at the first time. It’s magical. No words to describe the beauty of Japan in spring. You don’t even need to look around for cherry blossom trees; they’re everywhere. It feels like being in a movie set for Disney with all the pinkish blooms.
SUGGESTED BUDGET FOR JAPAN
Compared to other Asian countries Japan is one of the more expensive ones. I would compare the prices with West European prices. The daily budget for Japan is around $80-100 per person including accommodation (hostel), food, transportation and activities.
Note: This is a suggested budget assuming you’re staying in a hostel, eating local and using public transportation. However, if you stay in a more luxury accommodation or eat out fancy, expect this to be higher!
BEST TIME TO VISIT JAPAN
As I mentioned already above the best time to visit Japan is spring. The temperatures can already reach up to 24 degrees in the beginning of April which makes it perfect for sightseeing. More important is that the cherry blossom time begins in April. Don’t miss to visit Japan during this magical time.
